Abstract
The paper looks at education as a tool for empowering Women towards the contribution to National Reconstruction and Reformation of the Nigerian society. It observes that the use of education as a tool for empowering women may be unrealistic given the present situation in the Nigerian society. The argument here is that the elitist view of education being the magic key to all problems is no longer realistic because no social institution operates outside the social\ political or economic forces of the society. The paper holds that in view of the numerous valuable contributions of women towards National Reconstruction and Reformation of the Nigeria society at varying levels; they need to be encouraged further by empowering them through education.
