| dc.description.abstract | The crucial role played by the Information and Communication Technology in the life of people across the globe is today the greatest challenge in the human progress. Not only individuals, institutions and governments are adopting the ICT in all spheres of human endeavour, nothing can be moved in the next few years without the use of ICT. Today e-government and e-governance are becoming the order of the day and Nigerian institutions have long adopted and applied the technology in the provision of its services to their citizens. Against thisdevelopment, this study assessed the effect of e-governance on the delivery of Service in the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). To achieve this objective, five questions were raisedThese are: 1. what kinds of e-governance facilities are in the NIS? 2. What are the capabilities of the NIS staff in the knowledge of ICT? 3. What are the effects of such services on efficiency? 5. What is public perception on the efficiency of e-governance? The survey method was used It was found that there is significant relationship between e-governance and efficient service delivery. The study recommends that e-governance should be pursued in the service of the NIS in order to improve staff performance and more training on the usage of ICT facilities to improve service delivery. | en_US |
