The paper seeks to bring to fore the nexus between the coronavirus pandemic, public health and economic growth and the need for an indigenous solution. It is the submission of the paper that there couldn’t be a better time than now to look inward and find solutions to our peculiar problems. It also recommends amongst other things the need for governments to rise up to the responsibilities given to them by harnessing resources and talents.
