Abstract
This study is a comparative analysis of before and during Boko Haram conflict in Borno state, agricultural output, which have become of great concern to the Nigerian government. This wave of conflict has not abated but has assumed a dangerous dimension threatening Borno state agricultural output. A time series analysis research method was adopted, while descriptive statistics and t-test were used to analyse the secondary data on a twenty years scale obtained from the relevant annual agricultural performance reports from the National Agricultural Extension Research Liason Services (NAERLS). The study utilises system theory. The result showed that ten years before Boko Haram conflict in north east Borno state ,from (1999-2008), agricultural activities estimated value was high and on the other hand, less value was the case on the agricultural activities estimated value ten years during Boko Haram conflict in north east Borno state, from (2009-2018). Based on the findings, the study recommends that government should lure the teeming unemployed youth in Borno state to imbibe farming as a way of employment and provide them with basic farming incentives such as loans and grants among other things, so as to keep them away from being a willing tool in the hands of Boko Haram in order to pave the way for accelerated agricultural economic growth and sustainable development.
