The efficacy of rehabilitation programmes in Nigerian Prisons is an area of concern to practitioner and policy makers. This work assessed the nature, structure and usefulness of programmes aimed at reforming and rehabilitating prisoners in Keffi Prison of Nasarawa State, Nigerian. Interviews, questionnaires and statistical means were used to collate and analyze data. This study revealed that correctional and rehabilitative programmes were inadequate. In addition to lack of training equipment and workshops, the prison was found to be congested and inadequate founded. Hence the high rate of recidivism. It is importantfor the prison(s) to engage professionals and the government to liaise with the private sector to equip Keffi Prison in particular andprisons in Nigerian in general.en_US
