dc.description.abstract | This study intends to examine legislative institutions and constitutional development in Nigeria. Nigeria has had a number of constitutions since 1914. this paper traces the development of constitutionalism in Nigeria. The objectives of this paper is to ascertain how law-making affect constitutional development in Nigeria, the researcher adopted documentary and survey research method. It involves the use of secondary data and structured questionnaire to answer research question; Ordinary Least Square (Regression Analysis) was used to determine the relation that exist between the two variables. Finding reveals that 90% law making by the legislature affects constitutional development. On a specific note. Committee mark-up bill contributed about 50% to law-making and constitutional development in Nigeria, while voting by full members in the chamber and bill going to the president contributed negatively to la wmaking hence affect it negatively to constitutional development in Nigeria. It is recommended that government should improve in law-making functions for effective constitutional development, while voting by full members in the chamber and billg oing to the president be improved through synergy by the bodies for better constitutional development. | en_US |
