Drug abuse has become a global problem. This paper investigates the effect of drug abuse among the Muslim youth in Akwanga L.G.A of Nasarawa State and proffers Islamic solutions. To direct the data collection based on quantitative analysis, frequency distribution and simple percentages were used. The device used for data collection was a questionnaire. To analyze the data, a statistical table of the number of respondents was used. Results from the data analysis show a significant association between substance abuse among the Muslim youths in the study area and its adverse effects on National Security. The research recommends that to have a society free of substance abuse, Muslim parents should attempt to instil in their children the right manner of upbringing following Islamic principles and attention should focus on controlling the distribution of illicit substances within the society. Muslim leaders should intensify efforts toward sensitizing the Muslim youths on the dangers of abusing drugs | en_US |
