dc.description.abstractIn view of the recurrent episodes of ethno-religious violence in Nigeria, the paper examines some issues in the management of trauma and counselling needs of victims of ethno-religious violence in Nigeria. First, ١ve discuss the nature of trauma and the specific traumatic experiences of victims of ethno-religious violence in parts of Nigeria. Secondly, ١ve highlight the psychological strategies for managing trauma as well as challenges for effective management of victims of ethno-religious violence in Nigeria. Finally, we make a proposal towards the active involvement of psychological prevention of ethno-religious and other sources of violence in Nigeria.
