| dc.description.abstract | Many years after independence, several African Countries face one crisis or the other, ranging from political instability, Wars, poverty, poor educational and agricultural facilities among others. There are also lack of infrastructure, bad roads, and inadequate energy, health and water systems. The unemployment rate in Africa is high resulting into more crimes being committed by the youth. "An Idle Mind ” as the saying goes “is Devil workshop ”, and therefore, if the youth are not gainfully engaged in legitimate business, many of them will resort to crime or political violence. The three areas to be discussed in this paper are agriculture, education and science and technology. For example, the issue of child soldiers in Africa is caused by underdevelopment. If there are good and affordable education, agricultural facilities, good roads and proper health system, children would not have been forced to take weapons to kill innocent citizens. Good governance with focus on developmental projects could solve many crises in Africa. However, many African Leaders pursue negative political agenda instead of concentrating on developments. This paper uses liberal theory to analyze what ought to be done to improve conditions of living of Africans thereby reducing crises and wars. Secondary sources, like books, journals, newspapers and so on are used to obtain data while content analysis is applied to analyze them. | en_US |
