The paper focuses on some basic issues involved in the development ofa functional oriented plan for beneficiaries of Special Education within the context of contemporary Nigeria. It advocates proper reviezv of the Nigeria Curriculum that will incorporate multi-disciplinary service delivery such as special education and rehabilitation services for all categories of exceptional persons in schools and the society at large. It is suggested that the process of effective adjustment in life be adopted in the National Policy on education. It is hoped that by so doing the menace of unemployment in general population and its consequences for exceptional persons as well as the growing rate of destitutions in our streets today will be reduced.en_US
