Item Open Access THE ESSENCE OF MORAL VALUES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NATION: AN APPRAISAL OF ISLAMIC STUDIES APPROACH(Department of Islamic Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2019-01-01) Yahaya, M.; Abubakar, UsmanDevelopment in terms of infrastructure and other material needs is certainly among the prime requirements of man but attainment to peace and objectives of creation is the most impressive of all The world is experiencing destruction of life and wealth, which is not far from inclination to materialism and loss of consciousness of the Lord that is attached to almost every profession. Thus, infiltration and violation of human values are not subject of concern. People drive their leisure in creating commotion that could endanger the lives and wealth of millions. This animalistic behaviour is as a result of divorcing moral values, which Islamic studies aims at installing. The Islamic studies contention of development is the promotion of consciousness of the Lord which upholds human values, sanctity of life and uncontaminated means of attainment of them. This position of Islam drives its guidance from the unparalleled contributions made by Islam when it reformed the corruptible world and taught the world the essence of morality. In view of this, this paper is designed to carefully study the approach of Islamic studies in establishing the true meaning of development. Theory testing based on statistical methods are very limited. Therefore, this paper concentrates on testing the theorized relationships in the Islamic approach using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structured Equation Modelling (SEM). A sample of Islamic Studies codes of conducts is involved in the collection of data using a pre-designed questionnaire of Chapra (2009) framework. The paper proposes Structured Equation Model of Islamic codes of conducts that will provide useful insights in making socio-religious policies and measuring the compliance of citizens with the socio-religious policies. The findings of this paper shows how objective are the Islamic principles to national development. The paper therefore recommends the utilization of Islamic codes of conducts in the legislation of policies aimed at achieving positive results in national developmentItem Open Access ROLE OF CHEMISTRY IN NATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY: A REVIEW(Chemistry Department, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Nasarawa State University keffi., 2008-09-12) Bako, S.
