Item Open Access THE CODE OF CONDUCT BUREAU AND CORRUPTION ERADICATION IN NIGERIA(Public Administration department, Nasarawa Sate University, Keffi., 2018-10-07) Okpanachi, Ameh ChristopherThis topic "The Code of Conduct Bureau and corruption eradication in Nigeria" talks about the Efforts the code of conduct bureau has made over the years to eradicate corruption in Nigeria but despite her effort corruption still Unger’s In view of this fact, research being carried out has shown that most Nigerians ask private morals, observations also shows that corruption ranges from the top (our leaders) to the least in our country Nigeria. Some of the causes of corruption been identify as follows: greed, poverty, absolute power and lack of private morals among others, and this is a very difficult task to tackle, since the code of conduct bureau is limited in its jurisdiction to fight some of this identified causes of corruption. Furthermore/the study discovered that as a result of the bureaus inability to arrest and prosecute officers who bridge its provision. Public officers continue to perpetrate their act of corruption. Finally the study concluded by recommending that all public officers must be reoriented to live within their genuine and legitimate means of livelihood to declare their assets sincerely an not partially.
