Item Open Access ASSESSMENT OF THE EFFECT OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE PANDEMIC ON COUNSELLORS’ SERVICES DELIVERY IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS OF NASARAWA STATE, NIGERIA(Department of Educational Foundations, Nasarawa State University, Keffi., 2020-03-22) Affi, Amos Bawa; Allahnana, Kwanza Maikudi; Ohepo, Isaac StephenCorona l in/s Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the dcy-lo-day lives of many parents, counsellors’ services delivery and caregivers. These individuals hare been forced to make adjustments in major areas of life, including child care, schooling for children, work dynamics and social supports. These changes create deeper concerns and uncertainties for many people, it is also important to note that people everywhere are experiencing the loss of their pre-pandemic normalcy. As a result of this, this study assessed the effect of corona rims disease pandemic on counsellors’ services delivery in tertiary institutions of Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The study employed non-equivalent group pre-lcsl-post-lest quasi experimental design. The population of the study consisted 28 counselors with 4 tertiary institutions that offered guidance counselling as a course. Multistage simple random sampling technique was used to select the whole 26 counsellors in 26 tertiary institutions. Structure response questionnaire titled; CO V1D-J9 and Counsellors Services Deliver)1 (COVJD-19 CSD) was used as an instrumentfor data collection. The instrument was validated by experts and reliability index of 0.78 was obtained using Cronbach’s alpha. Analysis of Covariance (AKOVA) was used to analysis the data that was collected. Bindings from the study showed that COVID-l 9 pandemic has negative effect on counsellors’ services delivery. It was recommended among others that school management and government should organism conferences, seminars and workshops so that it would boost the counsellors’ services delivery.
