The paper examined the background of news flow controversy which emanated from the grievance of the third on how they are been underreported by the developed countries and even if they are reported, they are always stereotyped as; poor, hapless, and characterized by disaster and diseases. This led to the call for new world information order (NWICO). The MacBride Commission, however, noted that part of this imbalance is often branded the logical consequence of the . developed gap between the industrialized nations and the third world. The paper further identifies the implication of news flow imbalance on a Nigeria. Thus: Global Negative image projection of Nigeria as a bad country characterized by cybpr which scholars observes that this leads to discriminatory treatment and brainwashed attitude of youths and even adults who copy western languages, fashion, music and skin bleaching this imperialism cam come through the films and programmes imported from the developed countries. The paper concludes that, t he News Flow Controversy is real and there exist Nigeria as a Third World nation, despite * all its effort to correct its bad international reputation and image, . unfortunately is still a victim of this treatment by the global media. The paper suggested that Nigeria as a nation should encourage the establishment of media channels with global reach
