Item Open Access An Assessment of Consumer Buying Behaviour: an Issue for “Made in Nigeria Drive(Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2017-07-06) Bawa, Iliya; Andah, Ruth Angbazo; Paul, VincentThis study tends to assess consumer buying behavior. The closure of many manufacturing companies in Nigeria is obviously traceable to low patronage of locally made goods. As a result of this, the study identified some perceptual variable affecting the buyers behaviour such as product quality, product package and price; and how they influenced the attitude of consumers. Data were collected from 119 respondents in Kaduna State, Nasarawa State, Plateau State and Abuja the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. The analysis of the data was conducted through the use of statistical package for the social science (SPSS) version 20.0. Thus, the hypotheses testing showed that there is positive and significant relationship between purchase decision and other variables such as product quality, and product package. It was found out that, the increase in these variables lead to increase in consumer purchase decision. The relationship between the study price and consumer purchase decision was found to be negative. The decrease in this study price leads to increase in consumer purchaser decision. It was recommended that a well organized campaign should be carried out to convince the public about the quality of locally made goods. Efforts should be made to minimize or ban importation of some foreign goods so as to reduce emphasis on consumers' longing for them, and local manufacturers should improve on the quality of their products by using quality raw materials and modern techniques so as to reduce price.Item Open Access Deriving an Ideal Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for Entrepreneurial Development Success in Nigeria 1 2 3(Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2020-12-12) Abubakar, Hauwa Lamino; Andah, Ruth Angbazo; Paul, VincentThis study examined the entrepreneurial ecosystem to derive an ideal model for entrepreneurial development and determined a perfect model that can be adopted in Nigeria and other developing countries. A qualitative study was adopted, using the exploratory approach to identify the variables that necessitate an ideal entrepreneurial model considering the Nigerian environment. Triangulation was modified to improve the accuracy of the data gathered. Secondary data was used to gather information, make analyses, and interpreted it. A comparative analysis of the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem project model; Koltai and Company Six + Six model; Organization for Economic Corporation and Development model; and the World Economic Forum model. The findings identified the entrepreneurial system elements in Nigeria: education; infrastructural support; policy and regulatory framework; enterprise support; facilities; training and orientation programmes; cultural influence; market climate conditions; access to financial funding; and internal and external enablers. Priority was given to the entrepreneurial education system by emphasizing the various levels of education where entrepreneurship education should be adapted with the pedagogy for each level of education. The Lamino Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Achievement Process (LEEAP) Model was developed in line with the findings. The study recommended that entrepreneurship needs to be inclusive on all levels of the Nigerian education system, emphasizing that; primary-child centred; secondary-subject-centred, and tertiary-vocational-centred should be adapted for entrepreneurial education to advance in Nigeria. The study further recommended that the Nigerian government need to develop policies that can propel the elements of the ecosystem to thrive; the Nigerian government needs to make sure that necessary infrastructural facilities like electricity, water, roads, and land are easily accessible and available to entrepreneurs; and finally, the Nigerian government should adopt this model towards developing a robust and effective entrepreneurial development framework for her citizen.Item Open Access ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD AND PATIENT SATISFACTION IN PUBLIC HOSPITALS: MODERATING ROLE OF OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY(Department of Business Administration, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2023-02-02) Gamus, Micah Adamu; Andah, Ruth Angbazo; Mallami, Keffi MuhammadPatient satisfaction is considered is the degree to which patients are satisfied with the quality of healthcare provided by their provider. Unfortunately, most hospitals in Nigeria are lagging in embracing contemporary healthcare technology. Most hospitals around the world are re-strategizing to deliver quality healthcare and remain competitive through the usage of electronic health records systems (EHR). This study examined the relationship between EHR and patient satisfaction under the moderating influence of operational efficiency. Data was collected from the patients of public hospitals in north-central states of Nigeria using questionnaire. Two public hospitals were chosen to represent each state with the use of a convenience sampling technique. 440 samples were drawn via Taro Yamani formula. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using smart-PLS version 4.0 as an inferential statistical toolf or data analysis was employed. The study found strong positive and statistically significant relationship exists between direct function and operational efficiency. The study also found that information infrastructure and operational efficiency have a negative significant relationship, while supportive function and operational efficiency have positive insignificant relationship. Operational efficiency has strong, positive, and significant moderating effect on the relationship between EHR systems and patient satisfaction. Based on the findings, the study recommends that governments at all levels should endeavor to install sustainable and improved EHR systems in public hospitals in north central Nigeria. Such is expected to provide improved efficient operation that enhance patients' satisfaction in public hospitals.Item Open Access GENDER GAP IN ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP AND CHALLENGES FACING WOMEN IN SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE ENTERPRISES IN NIGERIA(Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2021-03-03) Andah, Ruth Angbazo; Abubakar, Lamino Hauwa; Paul, Vincent; Rikwentishe, RimamndeThis study examines gender gap in entrepreneurial leadership and challenges facing women entrepreneurs of small and medium scale enterprises in Nigeria. The major objective of the study was to determine women entrepreneurs’ capacity in bridging leadership while running small businesses. The study however, employed survey research design as copies of questionnaire were administered and information was generated from respondents that formed the population of the study. The study covered six geo-political zones of Nigeria within the spanned period of 2015 to 2019 and the total population of the study comprised of 839 selected small and medium scale businesses across the zones which also served as the sample size. The study reveals that ethnic-religious, poor access to finance, inadequate training and access to information pose a serious threat to women efforts in Entrepreneurship and SMEs development. On the other hand, women were attracted to small and medium scale enterprises because of the perceived flexibility to manage work and family, this flexibility did not negate the constraints of family responsibilities and helped to account for the fact that many women were sole operators, working part time in the business. The study recommended that, women entrepreneurs should be given adequate entrepreneurial skills through formal education, be granted equal privileges to men in our various communities in the country, and be given both financial and humanitarian support to participate in the entrepreneurship management in order to enhance quality and industrious activities toward entrepreneurship development in Nigeria as well as the globe
