Counselling as a tool for enhancing reading is what investing in. Education that does not encourage and challenge students to read has a negative impact on the student and the society at large. The essence of teaching is learning, so also the essence of reading is learning for self development and society. To bring about quality education students and teachers should show interest in reading. Improvement in reading is a need as it will help improve learning in every area of the curriculum and also develop the learner's personality. The counsellor can help students to see reading as fun. 'Reading be done not only in the school but also at home and should not be during examination time.
