Item Open Access EFFECT OF PRIVATIZATION AND THE PERFORMANCE OF AEFDC IN NASARAWA WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT(2022-02-02) Abdullahi, Mohammed; Abdullahi, Bariratu; Hassan, Umar UmarThis study examined the relationship between privatization and performance of AEDC with references to Nasarawa west senatorial district. The study adopted a survey design. Out of three hundred and forty-two copies of questionnaire administered, two hundred and forty-three (243) were collected and analyzed. Pairwise, a hypothesized relationship was tested using pairwise correlation that allows test of relationships between variables. The findings revealed that privatization has positive significant relationship with performance of power sector in Nasarawa West Senatorial District. Specifically, the study revealed that privatization has positive significant relationship with quality of electricity and electricity supply infrastructure in Nasarawa West Senatorial District. The study further concluded that privatization of power sector moves in the same direction with quality of electricity and electricity supply infrastructure. Based on the findings and conclusion, the study recommends that AEDC management should be working round the clock to improve on the quality of their services to ensure constant electrAdullahi icity supply in Nasarawa West Senatorial district which will in turn reduce the cost of doing business that will subsequently, lower prices of goods and services for the benefit of both Organization and customers, if it desires to improve their performance. And also Licenses and a level playing field should be open by Federal Government so others; independent power producers and other genuine investors in the power business can have access to the Nigerian power market for more competitive environment.Item Open Access EXAMINING THE STRATEGIES OF FILLING SENIOR POSITIONS FOR EFFECTIVE SUCCESSION OF SELECTED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN NIGERIA(Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi., 2020-08-20) Paul, Vincent; Abubakar, Lamino Hauwa; Abdullahi, BariratuEffective succession planning is a critical factor for any organization yearning sustainable performance, growth, internal effectiveness and efficiency, and avoiding defenselessness to decline and collapse of the enterprise. This study examines the strategies of filling executive positionsof selected business enterprises in Northern States Nigeria. The population of this study comprised of six hundred and fifty four (654) selected businesses registered with Corporate Affiars Commission (CAC) of Nigeria as at January 2018 which were examined in Northern States of Nigeria. Out of the total population, five hundred and twenty (520) firms provide the required, valid and reliable information as they have transited and are in their second, third generations and above. study uses frequency counts andpercentages to analyse the data collected. It was found that the business enterprises are motivated to fill their executive positions both by the need for recursion and adaptation. It is also found that management takes into consideration the possession of relevant experience and the company’s culture when bringing in new executives as successors. The study recommended that since the managements of these organisations takes the organisations’ culture as very important in the recruitment of executives to top positions, they should rather develop an internal strategy of grooming their own executives since they are much more likely to be familiar with the organisations’ culture instead of employing external executive who must study the system for period of time before resuming action for effective and efficient running of the organizations’ activities.Item Open Access Executive-Legislative Feud in Nigeria, 2013-2019: Personality or C onstitutionality?(Department of Public Administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi., 2019-02-04) Umar, Elems Mahmoud; Itodo, Sylvanus Mohammed; Abdullahi, BariratuModern democracies insist on separation of governmental powers, an arrangement that forestalls autocracy and authoritarianism of either Arm. This paper attempts an expository re-examination of the. relations between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Nigerian Government spanning the Administrations of Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari (2013-2019).
