Item Open Access THE CONCEPT OF LEGAL PERSONALITY IN INTERNATIONAL LAW(Department of Public and International Law, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2021-04-16) Bai, Ibrahim; Ahmed II, Bala JallaludinThis work attempted to understudy the underpinnings that support the legal personality of the United Nations Organisation in the course of widening functions on the international plane such as specialised assignment carried by its specialised agencies and other general functions within the mandate of the United Nations Organisation. Despite the legal personality which the United Nations have, that is, personal enjoy which is strictly within the course of service of the United Nation. This paper suggests the enjoyment of full diplomatic immunity to the personnel of the organisation in the course of its services. This is so in order to curb challenges faced in the interpretation, and enforcement of status of force agreement which often leaves the organisation at the mercy of the states, and other treaty obligation. It is suggested that for a more effective, stronger and virile United Nations system, the personnel of the organisation should be granted full immunity in order to ensure less conflict in the status and capacity of its personnel to function on the international plane.
