Content validity provided a validity with expert opinions on the instrument while reliability index was between 0.70 - 0.85 using Cronbach Alpha. The multiple regression technique was used to test the three hypotheses and the result proved the alternate hypothesis significant in ail three hypotheses. The study concludes that infrastructural development has impacts on the growth of MSMEs. Unemployment has been a major problem in Nigeria today, which is why emphasis has been laid on entrepreneurship development. The problem of unemployment has brought to the society so many vices. One of the major vice created by unemployment is high rate of crime as an adage goes that ،،idle mind is the devil s workshop”. Increasingly, children both underage and grown are seen on the street of Nigeria begging for alms while others walk aimlessly looking for food in the dump stand. Emphasis has been laid on youth, women and other entrepreneurship development but little or no emphasis is laid on juvenile entrepreneurship development. This paper brings to light how important it is to channel the energy and minds of these less privileged and homeless children to entrepreneurship development since they cannot afford formal education. Leaving them on the street to beg for alms or walk aimlessly in search of daily bread can only lead them to get involved in criminal activities. The paper concludes that if these children are involved in entrepreneurship development, they will develop entrepreneurial spirit and skills that will take them out of the street and make them become entrepreneurs. The study therefore recommends that governments at Local, State and Federal levels should create a Juvenile Entrepreneurship Development Centres) where these children should be made to acquire entrepreneurial skills,Item Open Access Relational Analysis of Child Labour and Juvenile Entrepreneurship in Nigeria(Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2017-01-06) Agu, Monica NnennaThis paper examines the relationship between child labour and juvenile entrepreneurship, The specific objective of the study is to determine the extent to which child labour leads to juvenile entrepreneurship. Considering the economic situation of present day Nigeria, absolute abolition of child labour in Nigeria is impossible and will lead to further hardship for parents/families that depend on the supportive income of these children. Some children involved in child labour have become juvenile entrepreneurs, therefore as alternative to child labour the nation should encourage and implement juvenile entrepreneurship to reduce the pandemic of child labour. Some of the successful entrepreneurs in our society were involved in one form of child labour or the other. This proves that some of the children who were the victims of child labour developed entrepreneurial spirit and skills that now manifest in their role as successful businessmen, industrialists and politicians. The methodology used in this study is desk research and oral interview. It is observed that child labour has helped in developing the entrepreneurial skills of some children through the hard way. It has also been used as way out of abject poverty for poor parents. Further observations indicate that bsolute abolition of child labour in Nigeria is impossible and will lead to further hardship for parents/families that depend on the supportive income of these children. The study therefore recommends that governments at Local, State and Federal levels should provide educational facilities where such children can receive formal education for at least two to four hours every day. The programme should be made flexible enough to accommodate their other entrepreneurial schedule. The study further recommends that children who are victims of child labour should be encouraged to learn useful skills that may lead them to becoming great entrepreneurs.Item Open Access Role of Young Females’ Entrepreneurial Skills in Family Business Development and Job Creation in Nasarawa State(Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, 2022-03-06) Paul, Vincent; Agu, Monica Nnenna; Adegbe, Andrew Ameh; Chukwu, Chinyere Kaosidinma ChukwuchiThe development of family businesses has been variously referred to as a source of job creation for idle individuals, especially in families. The authors used a purposive and convenience sampling technique in selecting participants for the survey. The instrument for the study is a self-design questionnaire using the likert scale format and interview schedule. The sensitivity of the study made the researchers ensure that ethical consideration and willingness to partake in the stud) formed a basis for selection. The study adopted a content validity for the instruments and Cronbach alpha method of internal consistency was used to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. Reliability coefficient between .70 and .89 was obtained for the variables of the study. Data analysis was carried out using multiple regression and content and thematic analysis with the aid of SPSSv21 and Nvivo 11 respectively. The study found out that women who are engaged in entrepreneurial activities before the death of their husbands were less maltreated by their in-law after the demise of their husband, as the in-laws are afraid of their economic empowerment.
